Cassian Schmidt

Cassian Schmidt is a Professor in the Department of Landscape and Environmental Science a Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences and Arts in northern Germany. For many years he was the Director of the Hermannshof Trial Garden in Weinheim to which he brought international recognition for his innovative perennial planting mixes. Cassian has huge experience hiking, botanising and photographing his way through many different habitats around the world, often accompanied by his wife, Bettina Jaugstetter. Few other people have the ability to link the wild and the garden in the way that he does.
