Maurice Foster stands in a long tradition of ambitious collectors of woody plants in the south-east of England. His arboretum includes a huge range of tree and shrub species, including magnolias, camellias, hydrangeas and Philadelphus, many of them new introductions or rarities. Here, he and his daughter Clare talk about building up the collection, and its management. They are joined by one of the garden’s trustees, Jack Aldridge, an RHS Wisley staff member.
