Karl Gercens

A journey through one of the most flamboyant public gardens in the world. Karl Gercens is the manager of the Conservatory at Longwood Gardens in the USA. One of the largest and most diverse public gardens in the country, it was funded by the du Pont family of industrialists during the 20th century and is now one of the most influential gardens and centres of horticultural education in the Americas. Karl is a plantsman and an avid traveller; he talks about Longwood, its history and his globe-trotting.
